Why Should we study
history?

A Reflection Paper #1 made by Maria Rafaelle Nicole M. Esdicul of BAP 2-B in THEO 3

History is defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary as the systematic and chronological recording of events, that often includes the reasoning that explains their causes – it is a saga that is comprised of every known happening that humans are aware of; a continuous tale that evolves alongside the eras of the world. History encompasses every field, be it of science, technology, philosophy, politics, economics, culture, or even sociology, everything that evolves, has been, or is in the present, all that is recorded on the tablet of life, is History: the story of the universe, of the world, and of humanity. But the question now is, why should we, as humans and college students, study it.

History teaches us a variety of things on how the world works. Furthermore, it teaches us human nature, from moments of valor and triumph, to the dark and gritty side of humanity. Studying History allows one to be aware of what the world, society, and humans offer; it allows one to learn from the mistakes of all those who came before us, and as generations increase their array for knowledge, it should be mandatory that as the successors of this world, we make it our goal to right the wrongs of each and every predecessor, and strive for greatness in our lifetime, so that once our time is up, the history that will be left for the future, may shine a little bit brighter.

To study history is to become self-aware that you are a member of this world, and by learning that, you must embrace and acknowledge the good and the bad in History, for only by knowing this, can it be done that we achieve the capability to create a better outcome.

How can you become a sacrament to those seeking the face of God?
God is our Beloved Friend

A Reflection Paper #3 made by Maria Rafaelle Nicole M. Esdicul of BAP 2-B

I can become a sacrament to those seeking the face of God by reading scriptures to learn how to know and to love the son who did his father's creation. We also learn how to meditate ourselves by reading on the word made flesh to go closer to seeing Jesus in both his humanity and divinity. Praying brings us closer to Jesus because we need to have time and talk to Jesus when there is more time in our free time.
The sacrament of reconciliation is about confessing our sins from our own selfishness and pride to make room for the grace that Jesus offers us like When i confessed before in my old school as a child in grade school, I confessed my sins about my mistakes in my daily life to jesus to not anymore sin again. According to Matthew 5:8, he said that Jesus said “Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God.” Next is Adoration, It is when I face to face with Jesus by sitting infront of the blessed sacrament. I talk to him to be his prescence by praying as his beloved friend.
Last is works of mercy, which means that  Jesus makes it quite plain where we should look for him. In the poor, the hungry, strangers, and those in need, we can see Jesus' and his Father's faces. Matthew 25:37-40 said “The righteous will respond, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you anything to drink?' When did we view you as a stranger and invite you in, or when did we see you were in need of clothing and clothe you? When did we go to see you when you were unwell or in prison and pay you a visit?' “Truly, I tell you, whatever you did for one of my least brothers and sisters, you did for me,” the King will respond.
Let us remember today, as we search out the faces of those we love, that the joy we experience when we gaze at our spouses, families, and friends is a small taste of what we shall experience when we arrive in our heavenly home and see the face of God, who loves us like no one else can. Let us now seek his face via the face of his Son.
Now I know how being a sacrament to those seeking the face of god. It means by being kind to other people and by providing a listening ear and helping hand when they need it and I should never ignore people who needs help to me to make myself a good example and to inspire other people to be a god example to the community.

What is the church for you?

A reflection paper no. 2

Church is Congregation

In The biblical Term it’s called congregation or people who followed God/Jesus Christ in Literal term it’s called as a Place of Worship, a temple place of Prayer where we find peace in other biblical term we are called as Temple of God because God is living inside us. My purpose to go to church is to pray, kneel down and ask blessing from God every Sunday before as a teenager. Now it’s pandemic, every Sunday me and my family would watch catholic mass in television to pray and kneel down to ask blessing from God and to pray for our loved ones and to our future and that is why that is the Church for me in my view. The Church for us is to worship our Lord and savior, “Jesus Christ” and “God”. We would take communion to pray and confess our sins when kneeling to remove our sins again.

The Church to me is a place where we gather to celebrate God’s love and countless blessings he gives to humans. Here, we give thanks, show our gratitude and respect, and humbly pray to God, that He may continue on showing His love to us humans, and to guide us in moving forward to a brighter tomorrow. We pray, even in the midst of dangers and hardships, because we believe in God and His Almightiness, that He may provide salvation and guidance to all humans.
